Today in 1980 Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band hit No. 1 on US Album Chart and remained there for six weeks with 'Against The Wind'. During an interview Bob Segar said that he wrote the title track of the Album about when he was a cross-country runner in High School. Against the wind only hit No. 5 on the Charts. I was surprised that I could not find a live vid of the 1980 performance so here is a still shot as well as a video recorded in 2011. You gotta love the Rockers still rockin' it out decades later!!
Bob Seger (Robert Clarke Seger) is an singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist from the US. He started out his career in the 60's with the stage name of Bob Seger System. What was he thinking?? Who on earth told him yah! Great Handle Man!! lol He formed the Silver Bullet Band in 1974 and they had HUGE success.
Seger was a fantastic songwriter in my books! He cowrote 'Heartache Tonight' with the Eagles - Love love love love this song!! It would be sick and wrong to Blog about Bobby and not mention 'Old Time Rock 'n Roll'! I have played this song around the campfire for decades! Who can't see Tom Cruise in his undies sliding across the hardwood floor right now??
