PYOTR TCHAIKOVSKY - Carnegie Hall

Today (May 5) in 1891 the grand opening of the  Music Hall (this is the original name of Carnegie Hall in New York City)  was kicked in by its first performer: Pyotr Llych Tchaikovsky. Not knowing on how to pronounce this - I can say however that it is Russian. Check out Carnegie Hall in its' infant stages - 1891 - now isn't that a lifetime ago??

Now I know what you are saying - this is not your typical Netty Mac Blog, but come on! How do we not mention Carnegie Hall?? Maybe Pyotr Llych Tchaikovsky's music is not your cup of tea (it is mine by the way; when in the right mood) - just think about it: 1891 - what was NOT around back then? Well, the Carnegie Hall was! lol I am going to play this venue one day!! Here is Pyotr music for you:

 THIS PICTURE GIVES ME GOOSBUMPS!:

I was in New York for a week and never made it to the inside of Carnegie Hall. I can say with conviction that that will NOT happen the second time!! The nostalgia - think about it - who has performed in this building since EIGHTEEN-91??? It is one of the most prestigious venues in the WORLD playing all types of music. IT is one of the largest buildings in New York and is built entirely of masonry - NO steel framing until the 20th century when they added a few studio spaces. It was named after Andrew Carnegie and rightfully so - he paid for the construction.
